Our Philosophy

Our mission statement is 'Building foundations for life, through excellence in action.'

We have created a curriculum which encompasses everything we do here at GWF. It clarifies our approach and originates from considering what we aspire our children to become and then considered the how to support our children to achieve these aspirations. A poster in the entrance displays our curriculum, and includes the different elements in the above images.

Parent partnerships are very important to us, working together creates the best possible outcomes for children.

Having a working farm, vegetable patch and orchard enables children to learn where their food comes from.

Inspiring environments provide awe and wonder, and lead to wonderful learning taking place.

Lots of adventures in the woods and on Forest School are integral across all ages at the nursery.

Outside is where the best learning takes place.

Self-confidence and resilience are important personal skills we nurture and support.

Opened ended and natural resources encourage children to think creatively and imaginatively.

Planning in the moment leads us to an inspiring child centred curriculum.

Hard work and such a dedicated team have helped us achieve Ofsted Outstanding since 2010.
